Accommodation
TaKe U has selected various accommodations. It is your choice whether you combine rough safari 4×4 driving with the luxury of 3 star (or higher ranked) hotels and safari lodges, or to use (local) hotels where you meet the local people and enjoy their common food. Mandazi (African style donnut), nyama choma (charcoal roasted meat), beef-/ goat-/ chicken stew, ugali (maize polenta), sukuma wiki (green vegetable) are but a few of the delicious regional foods.
All of the 3 star (and higher ranked) hotels and lodges we selected have comfortable rooms with private bathrooms and running cold and warm water throughout the day. Most of the accommodations have, besides a bar, veranda and garden area, also a swimming pool. Distillates and wine are available but expensive. Wine comes mostly in one variety and can therefore not always adhere to your personal taste. English style breakfast is served with fruits on demand. Dinner is either a buffet or à la carte, which provides a choice from various meat, fish or vegetable dishes with chips, chapatti or rice. Special vegetarian meals are available on demand.
Our selection of local hotels has been thoroughly inspected. They are clean, comfortable and quiet hotels with excellent service. All rooms have their own shower and toilet, but you must not be surprised if a toilet seat is missing. Hot water is always available, most of the time it runs from the tap, sometimes you may be served with a basin of hot water. The food is African. Tea, Nescafe, local beer, soft drinks and mineral water are available throughout the day. Fruits may be served on demand. Vegetarian meals are available. For a small amount of money you can get your clothes washed.
Inside the National Parks all lodgings have 3* facilities. In Samburu, Serengeti, Kabalega, Queen Elisabeth and Bwindi National Parks we suggest you make use of the lodges inside the park to avoid time consuming transfers and to get the most out of your park fees. Otherwise you could lose precious time. We suggest you stay in Maasai Mara and Serengeti at a very comfortably equipped tented camp located just outside the park. In the camp you are provided with private tents or bandas.
According to your wishes or budget we can take u to camp sites instead of hotels, or extra luxurious 4 or 5* hotels.
